How sword grades work in One Piece
One Piece ranks named swords (meito) in four grades, a system inspired by real Japanese sword appraisal:
- Supreme Grade (Saijo O Wazamono): 12 swords, including Mihawk's Yoru.
- Great Grade (O Wazamono): 21 swords, including Enma, Wado Ichimonji, Shusui and Kikoku.
- Skillful Grade (Ryo Wazamono): 50 swords, including Yubashiri.
- Grade (Wazamono): 50 swords, including Sandai Kitetsu.

Zoro's swords, in the order he got them
Wado Ichimonji
Zoro's oldest sword. It belonged to his childhood friend and rival Kuina, and her father gave it to Zoro after her death. Zoro carries it as a promise to become the world's greatest swordsman. It is recognizable by its white scabbard and simple round tsuba.

Yubashiri
Zoro picked up Yubashiri in Loguetown, at the same shop as Sandai Kitetsu. It was destroyed during the Enies Lobby arc.

Sandai Kitetsu
The Kitetsu line of swords is said to be cursed and to bring death to whoever wields them. In Loguetown, Zoro tested the curse by throwing the sword in the air and holding out his arm. The blade missed him, and he took it. It is still part of his set today.

Shusui
A black blade that belonged to the legendary samurai Ryuma. Zoro won it at Thriller Bark to replace Yubashiri. In Wano, he returned it to Ryuma's grave and received Enma in exchange.

Enma
The sword of Kozuki Oden, forged by Shimotsuki Kozaburo, the same smith who made Wado Ichimonji. Enma is known for drawing out its wielder's Haki, which makes it hard to control. Kozuki Hiyori gave it to Zoro in Wano. It is our most popular One Piece sword.
