What is a Nichirin sword?
Nichirin swords are forged from scarlet ore and scarlet iron sand from Mount Yoko, a mountain that is always in sunlight. That is why they can kill demons, which are only destroyed by sunlight or by beheading with a Nichirin blade. When a swordsman first draws a new Nichirin blade, it changes color according to their Breathing style. Many of the Hashira also carry blades with a unique shape that matches their fighting style.

The Hashira swords
The Hashira are the nine strongest swordsmen of the Corps, and their swords are the most collected.
